BIOGRAPHY
Mr Raymond YOUNG Lap-moon, JP
Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs |
Mr Young joined the Administrative Service of the
Hong Kong Government in August 1982 upon graduation from
the University of Hong Kong. Mr Young has served in various
bureaux and departments, including the Civil Service Bureau
and the former Industry Department. He was Deputy Secretary
for Education and Manpower from May 1997 to August 2001,
and Deputy Secretary for Commerce and Industry from
August 2001 to July 2004. He was Director-General of Trade
and Industry from July 2004 to August 2006 and, as Director,
Celebrations Preparatory Office, responsible for the 10th
Anniversary Celebrations of the HKSAR from September 2006
to July 2007. He assumed the post of Permanent Secretary for
Development (Planning & Lands) in July 2007 and was also
Chairman of the Town Planning Board by virtue that post. He
assumed the post of Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs on
25 January 2010.
