Oasis Mirage: Hong Kong International Sculpture Symposium 2009

Date: 12 March – 19 April 2009
Venue: West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade

“Oasis Mirage”, jointly organized by the Art Promotion office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Hong Kong Sculpture Society, was held at the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade. It showcased more than 20 art works by artists actively participating in Hong Kong. In addition, 14 sculptors from Hong Kong, the Mainland and overseas were stationed on-site creating art works and sculptures from marble, wood and other materials around the “Oasis Mirage” theme.

Other activities related to the sculpture symposium included "Sculpture Development in Hong Kong's Neighbouring Regions" conducted by the participating artists of the symposium at Hong Kong Central Library, and guided tours and workshops for students at the promenade.
