International DanceSport Extravaganza

The International DanceSport Extravaganza was held from 7 to 8 July 2007 at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium. Being the first and largest series of world-class dancesport competition and performance staged in Hong Kong, the Extravaganza attracted participants from over 20 countries and regions to compete in the IDSF International Open, which was sanctioned by the International DanceSport Federation (IDSF). Apart from the breath-taking performance of the world-class dancers, a series of events including local DanceSport Championship, DanceSport Carnival and DanceSport Exhibition, etc. were also organised. By having over 500 couples dancing at the same time, an attempt was made to break the world record of "Most Couples Dancing Cha Cha Cha".

Besides being one of the 10th Anniversary Celebrations Events to celebrate Hong Kong's return to motherland, the Extravaganza was also awarded for the first time "M" Mark status by the Major Sports Events Committee under the Sports Commission.
