"M" Mark Events
Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2007
With the continuous effort of the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic
Association, the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2007
was held successfully on Sunday, 4 March 2007. Being awarded
the "M" Mark status by the Major Sports Events Committee under
the Sports Commission for the third year, this year's event
also served as the grand finale of the "Standard Chartered
Greatest Race on Earth", the international marathon challenge.
With a registered number of 43,000 local and overseas runners
joining the Full Marathon, Half Marathon and 10 km races,
all runners started at Nathan Road and finished at the Golden
Bauhinia Square in Wanchai. The Kenyan runners Steven Loruo
Kamar and Rose Kerubo Nyangacha won the Men's and Women's
Open Marathon. Subsequently, Kenya won the 3rd
consecutive Greatest Race on Earth Nation's Challenge.
