"M" Mark Events
Cathay Pacific / Credit Suisse Hong Kong Sevens 2007
The Cathay Pacific / Credit Suisse Hong Kong Sevens (the Hong Kong Seven) was successfully held from 30 March to 1 April 2007 at the Hong Kong Stadium. Organised by the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union, this year event attracted 24 teams from different countries / regions to compete for the three trophies (Cup, Plate and Bowl). This in turn attracted 40,000 fans from all over the world to enjoy the 3-day events. Being one of the most celebrated sporting events in the world, the Hong Kong Seven was awarded the "M" Mark status by the Major Sports Events Committee under the Sports Commission to recognise the event as a signature event in Hong Kong.
After 3-day exciting and spectacular matches, Samoa, Wales and Russia swept the trophies in their respective Cup, Plate and Bowl Championships.
