"M" Mark Events

UBS Hong Kong Open Championship 2006

The Hong Kong Open Championship is an annual golf tournament organised by the Hong Kong Golf Association since 1959. Same as last year, this year's Championship, held from 16 to 19 November 2006, was staged at the beautiful courses of the Hong Kong Golf Club at Fanling. It was the second year for the Championship being awarded the "M" Mark status by the Major Sports Events Committee under the Sports Commission and it could undoubtedly help promote the sports of golf among the Hong Kong community.

Being one of the leading professional golf tournaments in Asia, the Championship attracted the participation of many world-class golf players from different countries/regions and the winner of this year's Championship was the Spanish player Mr. JosËþ Manuel Lara, while the Chinese player Mr. Liang Wen-chong was awarded a solid gold bar for his hole-in-one.
