"M" Mark Events
CROCODILE Hong Kong Beach Festival 2006
The Crocodile Hong Kong Beach Festival 2006 was a new major sports event combining both the beach volleyball and beach handball competitions in one location, together with a series of carnival activities. The Beach Festival was jointly organised by the Volleyball Association of Hong Kong, China and the Handball Association of Hong Kong, China from 3 to 5 November 2006 and 9 to 12 November 2006. A sand competition arena was purposely made and set up at the Kowloon Park Piazza in Tsimshatsui for this event.
The competitions were sanctioned by the Federation Internationale de Volleyball and International Handball Federation respectively. Around 16 beach volleyball teams from China, Canada, Malaysia, Switzerland, Hong Kong, etc., and 6 beach handball teams from China, Germany, Hong Kong, etc. participated in the event. The Beach Festival was awarded the "M" Mark status and funding support by the Major Sports Events Committee under the Sports Commission.
