Nomination of Representatives of Arts Interests for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council

Consultation Session

Pursuant to Section 3(4) of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council Ordinance (Cap. 472), the Chief Executive may appoint up to 10 persons nominated by the specified arts interests as members of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (The arts interests are Arts Administration, Arts Criticism, Arts Education, Chinese Opera (Xiqu), Dance, Drama, Film Arts, Literary Arts, Music and Visual Arts). As the current term of office of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council members will expire on 31 December 2007, the Home Affairs Bureau will arrange to conduct the exercise for nomination of representatives of arts interests for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council later this year.

The Home Affairs Bureau held a consultation session on the nomination exercise at Lecture Hall, Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre, Kowloon Park on 13 April 2007 to solicit public views on the proposed arrangements for the nomination exercise.
