Terms of reference

The main function of the Board of Trustees (the Board) is to manage the investment of capital of the Lord Wilson Heritage Trust (the Trust) and to take responsibility for related financial matters so as to ensure that a steady income will be generated to finance the Trust's activities. The Board also decides on broad policy matters and gives direction on how the objects of the Trust should be met.

Description of job

The Trust was established in December 1992 following the enactment of the Lord Wilson Heritage Trust Ordinance, Chapter 425. The Trust aims to preserve and conserve the human heritage of Hong Kong by organizing activities and providing funding support to assist community organizations and individuals to undertake heritage related activities and research projects. The Board meets regularly to decide on broad policy matters and give direction to the Council on how the objects of the Trust should be met for execution of the Board's decisions. A Fund Management Committee was formed in March 1993 by the Board to consider investment proposals of fund managers as well as to monitor and oversee the performance of fund manager of the Trust.
