There will be 70,000 Games-time volunteers for the Olympic Games and about 30,000 Games-time volunteers for the Paralympic Games. The Games-time volunteers will mainly be recruited in Beijing area with the college students as the main body, as well as a certain number of the personnel from residents of various provinces, compatriots of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, overseas Chinese, students studying abroad and foreigners.

From August 2006 to March 2008, the Games-time volunteersˇ recruitment will be organized at different stages and in various batches.

1. Applicants within Beijing area can apply from August 28, 2006.

(1) Teachers and students in the regular universities in Beijing shall apply to the recruitment offices in the schools.
(2) Other applicants in Beijing may apply through the online registration system appointed by the local Youth League according to the resident address of the applicants. They can also mail the hard-copied application form obtained from the local Youth League in the applicantˇs sub-district office.

2. Applicants from other provinces can apply through the application channels appointed by the local Youth Leagues from December, 2006.

3. Compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, overseas Chinese, students studying aboard and foreigners can apply from March, 2007.
