The Interest and Surcharge
on Arrears of Maintenance Ordinance 2003 comes into
effect since 1 May 2005. This web site introduces to
you the two new legislative measures ---- INTEREST and
SURCHARGE on arrears of maintenance to address the difficulties
encountered by some maintenance payees in collecting
maintenance payments and in enforcing maintenance orders.
In this web site, we also provide a computer programme
for reference of maintenance payees and payers when
they calculate the interest and surcharge, if any, on
arrears of maintenance. The computer programme is available
in two versions, the online and the downloadable versions.
