Appointments under the Member Self-recommendation Scheme for Youth

Phase II

The Member Self-recommendation Scheme for Youth (“MSSY”) Phase II, with ten participating committees, was launched in December 2018. We have received a total of 1 409 eligible applications during the application period. Upon completion of the assessment in end April 2019, the Recruitment Committee has passed the list of candidates (a total of 20) recommended by the ten Assessment Panels to the relevant bureaux and departments for consideration. The appointment exercise of the ten committees will complete by the third quarter of 2019 with the latest status listed below:

Miss Lamia Sreya RAHMAN
Miss Rahman is a student at the University of Hong Kong majoring in American Studies and Criminology. She has worked to integrate minorities into the Hong Kong community through diversified initiatives and campaigns.

Mr WONG Ka Chun

Mr Wong holds a Master of Social Science Degree in Social Work and is the Head of Discipline and Counseling Committee of a secondary school.

Mr CHENG Ho Wai, Brian
Mr Cheng holds a Master of Business Administration Degree. He is the Chief Operating Officer of a charitable institution that supports youth employment.

Miss LI Yuen Yung, Ada

Miss Li is a student at The Chinese University of Hong Kong undertaking the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery Programme.

Mr Lau holds a Master of Arts Degree in Sociology. He is the Business Sustainability Manager of Richform Holdings Limited.

Ms TSAI Ching Yu, Rebecca

Ms Tsai holds a Bachelor of Economics and Finance Degree. She is the Senior Officer - Sales and Marketing of New World Development Company Limited.

Miss Li holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Creative Media and is engaged in the promotion of life and death education.

Miss SIU Hei Ting

Miss Siu majored in Communication and Public Relations at university. She works as a broadcaster in Radio Television Hong Kong.

Mr Lau holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. He is the co-founder of the startup “Heycoins”.

Mr Luk holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Statistic. He is the Deputy CEO of the Good Lab Foundation Limited which is a social enterprise.

Ms Liao holds a Master of Business Administration Degree and is engaged in marketing and music production work.

Miss Ling holds a Bachelor of Hotel and Tourism Management Degree. She works in food retail business.

Mr Lee holds a Master of Social Science Degree in Government and Politics(Greater China). He is also a student of the Hong Kong Baptist University taking a Postgraduate Diploma in Education programme.

Mr Tong majored in Social Policy and Administration at university. He works in the commercial banking sector.

Mr Ho holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and is engaged in factory business. He is also the leader of Rehabilitation Pioneer Leaders established under the Correctional Services Department.

Dr IP Nga Min

Dr Ip holds a PhD in Neurolinguistics. She works in the education sector.    
Community Sports Committee Mr CHEUNG Ho Yin, Anson
Mr Cheung is studying Doctor of Health Science while working as a Visiting Lecturer at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is also a medical physicist.

Miss TSANG Tsz Lui
Miss Tsang holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication Degree. She is also taking the Master of Public Administration Programme. Her job relates to sports promotion.

Mr Ngan holds a Bachelor of Education Degree. He is a language teacher.

Mr Tam holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. He is the Founder and Director of “Kaifong Tour” and Project Manager of the “Good Lab Foundation Limited”, both of the organisations are social enterprises.
Council for Sustainable Development Miss CHUNG Sum Yue, Natalie
Miss Chung is a student at The Chinese University of Hong Kong majoring in Geography and Resource Management. She is also the co-founder of V'air Hong Kong which is an environmental education organisation.

Mr Tam holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Laws and is a trainee solicitor.

Miss Mak is the Marketing Manager, Circulation & Syndication Business of the South China Morning Post.

Miss Wong is a postgraduate student studying the Juris Doctor degree at the Faculty of Law of the University of Hong Kong.

Pilot Scheme

The Pilot Member Self-recommendation Scheme for Youth (“Pilot Scheme”) was launched in October 2017. We have received a total of 1 121 eligible applications during the application period. All appointment procedures for the participating committees were completed. The list of appointments is as follows:

Dr Chan holds a Master of Research on Medical Robotics and Image Guided Intervention Degree. She is a resident of the Hospital Authority.

Mr CHENG Hong Wun

Mr Cheng is a student at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology majoring in Global China Studies.

Mr NG Sum Chun

Mr Ng holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He is the Executive Director of a dancing school. He has been a Hong Kong elite dance sport athlete for 10 consecutive years and silver medallist at the Asian Indoor Games.

Miss Hung is a student at the University of Hong Kong majoring in Social Sciences (Politics and Public Administration) and Laws.

Mr LAI Chin Hong

Mr Lai holds a Bachelor of Language Education Degree. He works in the education sector.

Mr Ho holds a Master of Science in Environmental Management Degree. He is engaged in environmental and sustainability related work.

Ms Ng is a PhD student at The Chinese University of Hong Kong majoring in Biology.

Mr Poon holds a Master in Public Health (Health Economics, Policy and Management) Degree and pursued Master of Philosophy in Clinical Science (Experimental Medicine) under the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme. He works as a medical advisor in a biopharmaceutical company.

Mr SHAM Pui Sum, Rex

Mr Sham holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Degree. He is engaged in innovation and technology and is the founder of Insight Robotics Limited.
